LDE Print size

Post by Bryan J Tanner »

Hi guys

Sorry to add to the list of things that people seem to be having trouble with. But....

I was having the trouble described http://www.thermwood.com/forums/viewtop ... =3&t=10792

Now it seems that printing at all is difficult. Spooling took forever and then the print job size was about 640mb.

Isn't that a bit big?

Here is an example.

I loaded the program went to the cabinet editor and opened the cabinet took it to the LDE and printed.

I didn't print, by the way.

I'm also having the same problem.

I've tried printing a vanity made up of 5 cabinets but it is 1.68GB.

Guys here is a thought... It looks like with the new version of eCabs the printer output is changed to a vector format. I just did an experiment and the printers resolution setting is directly tied to the spooler file size. My guess is the spooler is just barfing at some point as it grows in size. I'm on XP so I don't know exactly how vista and 7 react. But if possible, go into your printers resolution setting and set it WAY down. Go as low as you can and see if this helps. I did a simple cab out of LDE... at 300 dpi printer setting, I got a 41mb spooler file. At 3600 dpi printer setting, I got a 120MB spooler file size. Drivers are very sensative to how windows GDI dumps the print file to them. Make sure you have up to date print drivers and try to set them way down in resolution.

I'm having the same problem, but it's not with every cabinet. I was printing yesterday fine with V5 cabinets that I have since modified in V6. But when I try to print out some line drawings as a PDF from an old V5 job that I modified, it took 10 minutes spooling and then Adobe locked up. I've also had this problem trying to print from my regular printer, but like I said it's not every cabinet.
