Not able to print to PDF

Post by Jason Gooch »

Hey - talk me off the ledge here, this is killing my livelihood! LDE has always had problems, just when one thing gets fixed another blows up.

On v6b2, when I try to print to pdf (using adobe acrobat), one of two things happens: 1) it creates a lovely pdf, but it takes about 10 minutes - then when viewing the pdf it takes forever to generate. The new pdf is about 2,000KB, as opposed to a typical 15KB pdf. Option 2: the program hangs up - I'm able to cancel the print process, but Ecabs is frozen.

Please help me! It is taking me ALL DAY to finish some crappy elevations so I can MAKE SOME MONEY! This is not helping me get any closer to buying that Thermwood CNC.

Thanks Jason

I'm having the same problem sending LDE to my printer. Freezes eCabs and never prints. It does work on my old computer with build1. Same job, same cabinets.

Hrmph - I hadn't tried printing to the printer yet - it's causing problems also. Same as printing to pdf - either incredibly slow or freezes entirely. I checked the print queue, it shows the print job as being 562MB - seems like a bit much for a print job....

Please. Help.

BTW David and everyone else - it's still possible to take a JPG snapshot of the LDE image - the quality is pretty lame compared to a PDF, but it'll work.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this bug. I posted about it in the post above.

I hope we can get this one fixed pronto.

If I try to print to .pdf from the lde it crashes ecabinets
If I try to print to a printer it locks ecabinets and runs the processor at 100% until I use the task manager to exit

I am still missing cabinet parts (mid rails, bottom rails, the tops of top rails, door parts) in the print and print previews in lde, at least now the cabinets are on the right side of the wall again, and not jumbled up. Is there any way to go back to V5.2, what used to take me 45 minutes now takes about 3-4 hours, I'm a one man show losing sleep, it's taken all the fun out of designing.

same here.
Printing is a big issue for me, but I know Ryan is looking deeply into it.
We've chatted numerous times about misc. LDE issues.
I have to print to my printer (which is painfully slow) then stuff the pages into the scanner to get jpeg's which anyone can open as easily as a PDF but this way is not convenient by any means.....

Josh, can you not create a jpeg from LDE? I'm still able to do that.
