Hinges not showing up

Post by Tom Nienow »

Just started a new design in V6B3 and when I add doors to a cabinet the default hinges don't show up in th cost sheet, they appear in the cabinet buy list but as a quantity of zero. If you manually add the hinges & update quantities they then come into play, seems the should be there when you add a door instead of going through another step, always used to do it that way.

Can you give some steps on what you are doing?

ex.
load std base frameless
go to door/drawer editor
add default hinge and hinge pattern in Item Window
add hinged door
go back to main
click on cabinet buy list
click on cost list

Attached is a cabinet that this problem occurs on, I take any cabinet, one I have already created or a standard cabinet, go to door/draw editor, set a default hinge, add door(s), check cabinet buy list, hinges show up as 0, in cost sheet hinges are non-existant, slides & mounts show up.

I had this problem but after I selected a hole pattern the hinges showed up on the cost sheet.

Rick,

As a side note, this is another cabinet that I am unable to open. There is one hardware item that diesn't have a hardware type listed and I cannot add the hardware or remove it from the cabinet..

Tom,

It appears as there is an issue with getting hinges to add to doors. I will get this addressed in the next build.
I was able to find a work around for now. Simply add any hinge pattern and the hinges will be automatically added to the cabinet as expected. Of course, if you plan to take the to a machine, you will want to use the correct pattern for this.

Thanks for posting.
