Software crashes when generating drawer box...

Post by Karl Shikles »

I've started using the software, and everything seems to work fine until I try to edit a cabinet with a drawer on it. The program unfailingly shuts down when the status bar says that it is "Creating CNC Output" while "eCabinets is Processing the Drawer Box". Does anyone have an opinion as to whether this is due to insufficient system resources (I've listed my relavent system stats below) or a bug in the program? If it's the former, will increasing my RAM help? I appreciate any help on this matter, as I've reached a stopping point in my ability to follow along with the tutorials and am anxious to continue.

Hi Karl, unfortunately your rig is a little lite for the program. Here is the link to the recommended systems.

I figured as much. I'll try cleaning up my system and adding some ram before I invest in a desktop. Is there any way to stop the program from automatically generating cnc outputs since I (and probably most users) aren't using this program with CNC anyway? I haven't been able to find anything by searching the help index. Thanks again.

Karl, it's the integrated graphics card that is the bottleneck in your system. Dedicated graphics is a must. :(

Even if you system is a little under powered, it should not be crashing when you regen a drawer box. What build of eCabinets are you using? Is there an error that pops up when it crashes? Can you get a screenshot of the error description in the event viewer?

My version is 6.0 build 3. I used windows' snipping tool to capture a screen shot. It always shuts down at this exact spot. Again, it seems to do everything else (nesting diagrams, rendering units and appliances without drawers, etc.) just fine. Let me know if there's any other info that I can provide. Thanks again for your time.

can you get me the error description from the event viewer.

To get to the Event Viewer go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer. Click on Windows Logs->Applications and open the events that occurred when the installer popped up. Then post what you find for each event.

should be looking something similar to this.

Sorry about that. I haven't been much of a computer geek since windows 95. Is this what you needed to see?
