Snap Markers?

Post by Terry Hall »

I used to use snap markers quite a bit. The other day I was thinking about using one but couldn't find it. Have they been eliminated?

Terry,

I ask the same question a while back in Beta Testing and one of the guys at Thermwood said that Snap markers are gone never to return.
I created a material 1/32" thick then used it for a cabinet end and deleted all the parts of the cabinet except that end. I made the cabinet 1/32" wide and now place that as a snap marker. You just have to watch which side of the marker you are working from and if you place cabinets on both sides of the marker you will have a 1/32" gap but in woodworking who cares?
If I need to place cabinets to both sides I place the snap marker, then place the first cabinet, delete the marker and then snap the rest of the cabinets in place.

Thanks Kerry, good idea. I thought the snap markers were a unique and useful tool. Evidently though, not many other folks used them.
