Removable Labels

Post by Nat Wheatley »

Recommendations? I've tried several types, and none removed that easily. Using a dymo labelwriter 400.

Thanks.

Thermwood sells them. From what I understand they have them custom made. They ain't cheap, but in my opinion it is easier to spend that extra money on labels rather than extra hours scraping labels off of wood (and damaging the wood.)

We've had comments from a couple of our machining customers, thanking us for using easily removable labels. It's one of the little things that people notice.

Hiya - do you folks have a recommendation for some labels that will feed through a regular printer? I don't have a Dymowhatsis....

Thanks - Jason

I'd recommend one, Jason, simply because there is no ink to worry about buying! That's my favorite thing about it.

I think you can get them at most places (Best Buy, etc.) and I don't think they're very expensive.

Sorry, I don't have an answer to your actual question, but thought I'd chime in anyway to give you some food for thought.

I use the OL100WR - 4" x 1.33" RC - 14 labels/sheet

In control nesting, you'll have to change printers and choose the correct .rpt file.
The great thing about using a std printer is the color. You'll notice that each cabinet will have it's own color code. This makes sorting a breeze.
Also, these labels are fairly easy to remove.

Hey Jody, thanks for the suggestion. Pardon my ignorance, but... um... control nesting? I'm assuming this is something to do with CNC operations. I'm just planning on printing them out from Nest diagram - is there any need to change .rpt file if I do it that way?

Thanks much - Jason

Actually, at this moment those labels will only work at the machine (control nesting). There's not a way to use the sheet labels directly from nesting within eCabs that I know of. I will mention this to the guys though.

Is there a way to alter the printer settings for that area of nest diagrams? currently it appears to be set up for an avery 5366 label, i'm wondering if we could change that to a slightly larger label? maybe this is what jody's talking about.
