Part Editor & Constraint manager

Post by Steve Detina »

I have been experiencing problems with both editors. For example I will take a cabinet, delete all of the components except for the back and then modify is to create a furniture style kick. I will take this part into the part editor make the necessary changes and then then take the same part into the constraint manager and apply my constraints. Once all this is done I save the part. I then try to stretch or shrink the part but it does not change size. Is there something I am doing wrong? Attached is a copy of the file.

Steve,

I reviewed your cabinet and I think that the main issue was that the part itself had been re-sized to 29.875" wide within the constraints manager - meanwhile the "cabinet" that contained it was only 24.5" wide. Since the widths did not "match" you could not re-size. I just reset the width back to 24.5 to match the "cabinet" and things worked.

(Note: I also had tried to simplify the constraints, which did not seem to help, but work none the less.)

It re-sizes correctly now....
