Line drawing editor glitches

Post by Tom Nienow »

I'm having trouble zooming in on a wall or cabinet in the line drawing editor, I just upgraded to B5, is anyone else having any issues with this?

Absolutely no problems here. The LDE is working better than it ever has.
Are you using the shift key and both mouse buttons to zoom or ctrl key and dragging a box?
Both ways are working great for me.

Nick,

I would try the usual fixes first.(Update graphics card drivers) I am downloading new drivers for mine as we speak.

I know this is a dumb question but, do you have the wall/cabinet selected before trying to zoom? It works fine for me.

I have done everything I have in the past, hoding down the shift key & such. I can move left & right, up& down but cant pull it forward or back. I can move the page forward, but not the individual wall or cabinet.

What is your selection mode in the LDE?

Oh yeah, I did recently did upgrade to an Invidia Quadro FX580, really improved performance in all aspects, everything worked great until I added Build 5, so far the only problem I have is zooming in on an item, making it pretty hard to create line drawings.

Done that Kerry, driver is up to date. Like Tom performance is up but zooming and rotating in the LDE is suddenly gone

Tom,
Make sure your Quadro FX580 is running the latest device drivers from Nvidia. Even if you bought the card today it could have old drivers on the install disk.
If you are trying to zoom a wall make sure you click the Select Wall Mode then mouse over the wall and select it (it will turn green
Make sure you do not have the Note button or pointer button selected.

If you are using a smart mouse make sure it has the latest drivers installed.

You might post your operating system info.

Kerry, my system info: Windows XP
Pro Vers. 2002
Service pack 3
Intel duo processor
E7300@2.66 GHz
#Gig Ram
Nvidia Qudro FX580 updated
I have been selecting wall, it turns green, I can move it from side to side, up and down, as soon as I press the left and right buttons on the mouse the wall is no longer green

Tom,

Maybe Rick will have some more ideas. It sounds like (for some reason)the shift key isn't working and pushing the left mouse button is de-selecting the wall. I am using XP with Service pack 3 and the LDE is working great.
Sorry I couldn't help.

Tom,

Try this and let me know what happens:
> Select the wall (turns green)
> Press and keep the Shift key depressed and left click on the wall a few times (shift key is down the whole time): Does the wall stay green??
> Try the same with the right mouse button, then both buttons (shift key held down the whole time): Does the wall stay green??
Regards,

Scott, left clicking the mouse the wall goes back &forth from green. Now I just tried selecting a cabinet & when I do that when I right & left click I am able to pull the full wall forward or back, not the selected cabinet, which I guess works fine for now
