New error message. Can't continue.

Post by Marc Rheaume »

I have received this error message upon starting the program today. The latest update(s) have been applied, and the program won't load once the error message pops up. Anyone have an idea/solution?

Thanks in advance,

Marc

Can you zip up and post your localstore.mdb?

It is found at

Vista/Win7

C:\ProgramData\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\localstore\LocalStore.mdb

or

XP

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\localstore\LocalStore.mdb

I have searched through my computer. There is not an "Applications" folder. There is also not a file named "localstore.mdb".

Tim,

I assume you are on XP. The {Application Data} folder may be hidden on your PC. Can you navigate to {C:\Documents and Settings\All Users}? If you can, you can navigate to {All Users} and then click in the address location and add {\Application Data} to the end of the path and press enter. This will take you into that folder even if it is hidden. Other option is to set your folder options to show hidden files and folders.

I also found in the same folder a file named "LocalStore" with no file extension.

Tim,

This is because you have Windows set to hide extensions of known file types. Hover over one of them and the pop-up window that reads {Microsoft Office Access Application} in it will be the one we want (but NOT the one that says record locking information if you have a 3rd file showing).

Sorry for the delay, I have been in Iqaluit, Nunavut and finally going home tomorrow. I have not had a chance to try anything on the affected computer, but am glad to report that there are no problems on the notebook at all.

I will gladly post the outcome as soon as I can.

Hey Marc...

Iqaluit, Nunavut is a fair distance from Pembroke, Ontario! (About 2100 km or 1300 miles) Hope you brought your parka!

Have a safe trip home.

A fair distance, and yes, I have a parka that is probably only appropriate for up there. I still sweat when walking in -31 Celsius weather.

Unfortunately, the latest update did not fix my problem, and I don't have this issue on the notebook. Here is the requested LocalStore.mdb.

Thanks for looking into this!

Marc,

This file is what is causing your troubles. Delete it or rename it and then run the install and select the repair option. This should get you going. If you had any hardware components added, you will have to add them back in.

You, are a genius. I ended up having to delete all the LocalStore.md* files, but things seem to be up and running again.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Marc.
