Ecabs and Gannomat CNC dowel inserter

Post by BenRatt »

Believe it or not, thanks to Daniel at TWD, our ecabs now talks to our Gannomat CNC dowel inserter via barcode. In ecabs I label the parts that get dowels with a user part name cooresponding to the drilling pattern and it's converted into a barcode. Only the parts that get drilled/doweled get barcodes and they're scanned and we're drilling/inserting a few secs later. Awesome! Made a short video- http://youtu.be/AlSryXxxO18

Ben,
Very cool. So how does the dowler know which part to pull? Is there a text file or something that ecabs splits out and you load on the dowler. Would like to hear more.

I figure out the spacing in line drawing editor and program the dowel inserter accordingly. I assign that program a name and label the parts with that name. The name is converted into a bar code by CN and then when it's scamnned it pulls that program up automatically. We use the same patterns alot. U program the dowel inserter once and its in there forever.
