6v8 Won't install
I tried to update my eCabs software and it crashes. Claims an unrecognized data format, doesn't throw any error codes. It loads the main screen,I see the splash screen and it freezes up.

Jim,
What is the full message that comes up when you receive the message? Does it specify a specific file name in the message?

Re: 6v8 Won't install
Jim,
If running Vista or Win7 go to C:\ProgramData\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\localstore
or
If running XP go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\localstore
Then, delete the file named localstore.mdb. Make a copy of the file LocalStore.6.0.ref, then re-name the copy of the file to localstore.mdb. Run eCabinet Systems and see if you are back up and running.

Re: 6v8 Won't install
Scott,
Always good to have a smart guy around. Yes that seems to have gotten eCabs to load. I notice now though that I don't seem to have the hardware that I had entered into eCabs.
Does LocalStore.mdb contain hinges drawer slides etc? MY sheetgoods, boards seem to be OK but the hardware pieces I entered in seem to be gone. I did backup my files can I try to see if a backup copy of LocalStore will work or is it another file altogether that I am missing?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: 6v8 Won't install
Jim,
Yes, the localstore.mdb hold your hardware. Just load an item or job that you know has the hardware in it and add it when it asks. Or, if you have been doing backups, you can copy that file back over. The materials are kept separately in the ecabinets.mdb.

Duane,
You are in the Program Files directory and you need to be in Program Data directory instead {C:\ProgramData\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\localstore}

Re: 6v8 Won't install
Thank you Scott,
I didn't see Program Data at first. It didn't occur to me that this was a hidden file, but I have it working now!
Many thanks!!
