Scribes and end panels

Post by Alex Bowler »

Hi,

Is there any way to quickly insert scribes and end panels in the kitchen layout section other then using display panels?
Also is there an equivalent of the align items in the kitchen layout section to snap scribes/end panels to cabinets?

Hover over cabinet and right click menu. Go to "adjust cabinet" and "cabinet end".

Hi,
I think that only applies to cabinets with face frames as it will not allow me to enter any thing in that section?

I should clarify that it only works in Custom Layout. Forrest

To further clarify you must be in overhead view and you must highlight the cabinet before right click, adjust cabinet, cabinet end. Forrest

I tried again in custom layout section, overhead view and with the cabinet selected and was able to open the
window were you can adjust cabinet ends but the scribe section was grayed out. I did read some were that this
section is only available to cabinets with face frames and all the kitchens that we do not have face frames.

Do you know of any other way around this?

What do you want to scribe? If you need the cabinet less wide you will have to make it the desired width to start. If you need say an applied end panel and want it to over hang the front by the thickness of the door then put a - amount in the front inset box and so on for any other desired dimension. Does that help? Forrest

Hi Alex, here is a way to add scribe strips, or "fillers". Download the job file and click on the filler beside the cabinet and take it to the CE. This filler is a stile from a face frame cabinet that has all the other parts removed. This can now be manipulated like a cabinet (height, width, depth). The depth of this filler is the same as the cabinet, so it will "snap" to the front of the adjacent cabinet, and can be placed like any other cabinet.

Hi guys for all your help so far I opened the job the scribe looked good but i was unable to increase the depth through the cabinet editor and normal size settings. Do i need to edit the scribe through the face frame construction settings?

That is correct. Hilite the scribe, right click select J then E then right click on the part, construction settings, that will open the face frame settings. Go to page two, select the correct width, and OK, return to room, apply changes.

Hi Alex
Another alternative to Ricks.
An end with a door, no hinges.
