Blind Dado Tenon Placement Question

Post by Daren LaBranche »

Does anyone know how to make a blind dado tenon go to the end of a part without having a notch at the corner? If you look at this back panel you can see that the tenon on the top left corner extends through to the end of the panel the way I want it to (only because I've setup that end as a butt joint for this example). But when I setup all joints as blind dado (with 0" tenon placement), the connecting edges of the panel always get a notch cut out of the corner (which I don't want). Thanks.

Well, it looks like I've answered my own question. Unless anyone sees anything wrong with doing it this way, here's what I did. Extend the tenons on both sides of the panel (or inversely, extend the tenons on the top & bottom) by entering a negative value the same length as the dado depth. Leave the other 4 tenon placement fields at 0". Here's what it looks like now. Cheers.
