Slab door banding

Post by Steven Daws »

I need to make door and draws with an odd edge profile. As you can't take MDF doors to the part editor, I use slab doors and edge in part editor. Problem is the edge banding. Is there a way to not show banding on slab doors (tried banding stock 0mm but still shows) or make it clear so you can't see it?

Hey Steven, I was able to create a cabinet with doors made from stretchers. You can profile the doors, and re-size the cab. Unfortunately, it's not a door. So it won't retain the properties that a door would, (hinge patterns, etc). But for demonstration and sizing, it will work. Hope this helps.

I'm probably missing something here but can't you select a slab door and then choose no banding from the drop down menu?

Thanks Rick, there are a number of ways to make doors but i was hoping to keep it as a door.
Jason i don’t have that option. IF there is somewhere you can do that, that’s what I’m looking for.

Steven,

Choose the MDF Drawer Front option and choose your chamfer tool for the exterior tool and none for the interior profile tool.

Problem is it’s a different profile on the top compared to the other 3 sides.
