Drawer with Stretcher?

Post by Nat Wheatley »

Is there any way to add a stretcher (or partition) to a drawer? On larger drawers, we add a stretcher under the 1/4" bottom for additional support. I was hoping to be able to do this in the drawer box editor, but am not seeing the option available.

Thanks

You could create a stretcher using dummy stretchers associated to the rails This will allow them to adjust with the cabinet but they will not be part of your drawer but you could name them for example Drawer stretcher. We usually just make the bottoms on large drawers out of 3/4 material.

Thanks Scott. I've been on the verge of just switching to 3/4" bottom on my drawers, and just hearing that someone else does the same may be enough incentive to push me in that direction.
