Question about KD Fasteners
I have ben doing some homework on kd fasteners our regular supplier sells Titus brand similar to Rafax(Halefe) but upon a closer look Titus sells a drop in and a side mount. I looked on Halefe's sight but there was no mention of side mount or drop in.My question is (1) what is the difference from a side mount and a drop in (2) what do you guys that use kd fasteners use for Lock dadoes drop in or side mount?

Re: Question about KD Fasteners
Scott,
The drop-in is what Hafele refers to as "with ridge" versus "without ridge". The ridge prevents you from inserting a fixed shelf in from the end, in other words, you have to drop the fixed shelf ONTO the rafix studs that are sticking out of the left / right ends. Hard to explain. Basically you have more flexibility without the ridge. If you wanted to use one in conjunction with the blind dado, i.e. the lock dado with RTA's, then you would need "without ridge".
Hope that helps -

Re: Question about KD Fasteners
Scott,
We use 15mm bolt 263.20.856 with Rafix They also make an 11mm, either will work with those fittings.
