Stretchers on corner cabinets

Post by Donald Thomson »

I am trying to use the stretchers on corner cabinets feature and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what.

I add a stretcher and then select it and click on Adjust Stretcher.

When I try to adjust the inset from the front or back of the cabinet to 0, the stretcher keeps marching further and further out the front of the cabinet in what appears to be about .5" to 1" increments. I can't get the stretcher to line up with the side of the cabinet where the shoulder of the tenon is even with the inside of the side of the cabinet. It overlaps the side. None of the settings are locked.

Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong with the adjustment settings? They certainly don't work the way regular stretchers do when installed between the left and right side of a cabinet.
Sincerely,

Don Thomson

Donald,

Set your front or back to 0 then lock that setting. You can now adjust the other end wherever you want it. The locked end will stay attached to the front or back and the stretcher will grow or shorten from your other settings.
