Cabinets losing edgebanding

Post by Jeremy Schiffer »

We've been having this issue a lot lately, with cabinets not showing edgebanding on the labels at the machines. Load these cabinets into the cabinet editor, and apparently all is well. Write a TWD file from them, and the one I have named NO EB will not show edgebanding on the cabinet box parts. It does show it on the drawer fronts and drawer boxes.

Otherwise, these cabinets were created from the same seed cabinet, and are basically identical.

Could someone please take a look "under the hood" at these? Other than seeing that one works and one doesn't, there's not much more I can troubleshoot, since according to the Cabinet Editor, they are fine.

Thanks!

I came on the forum this morning to try to solve this very same problem.
I wonder if there is a connection with the cabinet body being lost when returning to batch file with "add no changes to batch".
I am using windows 7 and I see there is a patch. maybee this is will help .

We're using Win 8.1 on our design computers, and this problem is happening both in batch jobs and custom layout jobs. We've not been able to find a method to its madness yet...

Okay, I have some more info. Take the cabinet "NO EB" to the cabinet editor, right click and select Edit Material A side. Click on any of the cabinet box parts, and they will NOT highlight as they are supposed to. (The drawer fronts will)

So the lack of edgebanding seems to be related to this material A side issue. Regenerating the cabinet fixes it. We have this happen in nearly every job lately, I'd love to get to the root of it.

This problem that was in 6.1.2, also affect the custom layouts as well.

Yes, a regen will fix it. It has lost some of the part bodies, and regen restores them. If you have a batch or room that you want to force a regen of all the cabinets, you can select all cabinets, go to Adj Features->Global Item Modication. Check Always Regen and click ok.

Do you happen to know what changes you have make to the NO EB cabinet? I saw that I was saved in Beta2, RC1, and 6.1.3.

Rick, I haven't yet figured out at what point it loses the information. I watch for it to happen, it doesn't, and as soon as I turn my back, another few cabinets show up with no EB. Perhaps regenerating our entire library and re-saving will help.

These two cabinets were from one of our cutting customers - but they are our library cabinets. So I can't say exactly what the difference between the two is. They appear identical except that one (the one that the EB shows up on) has a filler attached to the side of it.
