Using the f/x editor
Can someone enlighten me as to its purpose. I have been trying to figure out a way to lock the width of a fixed shelf to 4" for example no matter the cabinet depth but haven't figured out a way

Re: Using the f/x editor
Try the following in the "Shelf/Partion Editor":
CabinetDepth-BackThickness-4.00000000000000-0.25000000000000
Where:
CabinetDepth-BackThickness-4.00000000000000-0.25000000000000
Where:
- CabinetDepth is the built in variable for the depth of the cabinet.
- BackThickness is the built in variable for the thickness of the BACK.
- 4.0 is YOUR Fixed Shelf Width desired.
- 0.25 is YOUR "Back Inset" of the BACK component. (Change this to match your construction method's BACK "Back Inset".)

Re: Using the f/x editor
carmen,
I just want to point out that I was assuming a "drawer stretcher" sort of application. The same sort of thing could be done when applied to the "Front Offset".

Brad you are correct in your drawer stretcher assumption
