Resizing Display Boards

Postby Donald Thomson » Fri, Mar 02 2018, 12:15PM

I can't find anything in the Help manual about using the Display Board function. So here goes.

I've put some display boards in a cabinet. I have associated those boards with my cabinet. When I resize the cabinet, is there a way I can also resize the display boards, or do I need to delete them all and start all over again adding them to the cabinet (waste of time)?

Thank you.
Sincerely,

Hi Donald,
You will have to resize them manually. I use stretchers rather than display boards. If I need them to be out of solid stock. I use a sheet stock that is named solid stock. to allow them to be filtered out at the machine. I have a video that I show how to use stretchers to make fluted moldings that will resize with the cabinet. here is the link if you want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJ3hr2L ... 5ExtuSU0e2

Thanks Scott. How do you resize a display board? I can't find in the help files how to do this.

I've attached the cabinet with associated display boards. Every time the customer wants to make size changes all the display boards don't fit.

There are 3x3 posts at each corner, 1x1.5 "stretchers" (not eCab stretchers) to hold the slats displayed at the bottom and then the slats themselves. No so concerned with the slats or posts, but the display "stretchers" are subject to needing resizing every time the customer changes their mind.

I am pretty sure that you will have to remove them and add them back at there new sizes.

To bad they can't be scaled like a display object. I would also like to see an option to lock them to a specific location (post on the corners) so when the cabinet is resized they move with it.

It would be nice if we could make display boards an integral part of a cabinets design. Be parameter driven like the rest of the cabinet parts.

Maybe something to look at for next release?
