Backup my libary ?

Post by andy photenas »

Hi all I am having a bit of trouble finding the right video in the training vids to learn how to back up my library that i made. Can anyone either tell me how or direct me to a video that teaches this ?
Also I see some backup options in the menu for saving but i cant find any videos teaching how this works either. My pc is getting old and im going to need to get all of this on a new one soon so im trying to learn the best way to do this. Im guessing the backup that i see in the menu is only gona save on this pc but i have not tried it yet. Thanks for any help team!

Hi Andy
Click file, then backup / restore settings - tell it where you want to store your backup - click backup

It should. The Jobs, Tools, and Drawer Boxes can all be stored somewhere other than default so you have the option to set the location where you save them. Everything else at the bottom with check boxes pulls from a location that is relative to your data path.

The backup/restore utility is a directed copy and paste. You could do everything it does manually, but the utility packages it all for you and places it back in if you choose Restore.

Where does the "back up" get saved to on my C drive? Also does it save my materials library?
Thanks

You can determine what your Backup/Restore Path is by referring to the "eCabinet Systems Backup/Restore Settings" dialog...
