3D Mouse Support

Post by Corey Al Smith »

Has there been any thought about setting up functionality for a 3D mouse? I use the space mouse by 3D Connexion for navigating in Sketchup, and it is really nice. It also works with hundreds of other cad and 3d software. It would be nice to not have to keep my finger on the shift key anymore...

Corey,

I haven't heard much of it, but I can pass your request along to the software engineers. As an option, I use X Mouse Control https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmo ... ontrol.htm with a five button mouse (normal scroll, two top buttons, one button on each side). X Mouse Button Control allows you to set what each button does for the mouse. I have my left side button set to simulate pressing the shift button when I press and hold, the right side button set to press control when I press and hold. It greatly aids when talking on the phone and trying to manipulate in eCabinets.

If you haven't heard of it and want to go that route, I can send you screenshots of my settings to get you going quickly on it.
