Pocket Cutting Off Profiled Edge
Hi Guys,
I'm not good at describing my issue and I hope that the photo shows whats going on. Ive included the ecabs file, A DXF drawing of the Front and Back sides and also the Profile Tool that I made (The Modeling Tool At the CNC Is a .5 Downsheer Bit). I've Started over 2 times trying to get different results but both times I got the same result.
Thanks
Troy Hollinshead

Troy,
Can you post an export from Control Nesting? Can I also get a picture of some settings in Profile Modeler? Open Profile Modeler, go to Operation and choose Defaults. Take a picture of that screen so I can get your defaults.

Re: Pocket Cutting Off Profiled Edge
Also worth noting for Troy and others, if you are bringing in geometry to Shape Manager or Contour Mode of Part Editor, it is worth looking at the DXF Option setting in the right click menu. Looking at Troy's part, I'd guess his setting is set to Import Polylines as Lines. This outputs all those black lines you see in the swept profile. If it the setting is Import Polylines as Arcs, it will come in as one arc.

Troy,
Not sure exactly whats going on with this one, I'll have to send it to the software engineers. The attached picture is the backplot of the code. Each of the white lines is the path the tool takes. So the center one that cut correctly has the correct shape. For whatever reason the outer two circles are going the wrong way. I'll let you know when I hear back from the engineers.

They see the issue, but are backlogged with other software updates. I'm working to see if I can find a work around. I was out earlier this week and have been playing catch up.

Re: Pocket Cutting Off Profiled Edge
Clint,
The Update did the trick my part cut fine. Now the customer made some changes and added another pocket with profiled edge and I get "Sweep not possible" error box. Any ideas?
Thanks

Troy,
Can you post the cabinet with the contour lines on it that you are trying to sweep? Also can you post the tool you are trying to sweep? I may be heading out early today so it may be Monday before I can take a look at it.

Re: Pocket Cutting Off Profiled Edge
Clint,
Sorry It took me a while to get back to you. I modified my drawing and was waiting on the outcome from the shop.
Attached is a picture of the changes I made to my drawing to get it to cut perfectly.
Thanks Again!
