How to create trapezoid openings in a wall

Post by Jeff Christenson »

Hello friends,
Is there a way to cut trapezoid holes in a wall? I would love to create the look of these windows in the gable end of this home. If there is a way, then next question will be how to create the window. Thank you in advance!

Jeff,

The only way I know to cut a trapezoid in a wall is to use a series of rectangles rotated to cut the pattern.

You may have to use other rectangles to add back geometry.

I would probably use display cubes in the part editor to create the window.

If you can attach your photo it will help.

If your photo is over the size limit, take it into IrfanView that is in eCabinets and re-size it and reduce the resolution.

It is a clumsy way of getting there but it works.

I think I would forget cutting the hole and just use display cubes

I was able to cut out the windows then add some trim using a stile and left end of a cabinet. Thanks again Kerry!
