Deck Float Won't Go Away

Post by Terry Hall »

I'm trying build an open face frame cabinet with no deck and no shelves. When I spec no deck the stiles are .6262" shorter than the cabinet sides. I look in face frames & it automatically puts .6262 in deck float and I can't delete it, and when I put a zero in deck float and go back to the cabinet editor it simply restores the deck float to .6262. I've tried putting in negative numbers, but that doesn't seem to work either. Anybody have an idea of why this happens?

Have you tried to make the cabinet from scratch using a eCab seed cabinet? Sometimes a cabinet will get corrupted and it cannot be fixed. If there's a parts editor cut in something remove it and see if the cabinet works again.

Or put the deck back and then set the deck float to zero, save the cabinet, close the program and restart it and open the cabinet again and then remove the deck.

Thanks Leo. I did try a few other cabinets that I had in my multiple directories. They did exactly the same thing. I hadn't thought about trying one in the standard directory per your suggestion, and when I did, that worked. Thanks again.

Might have been the recent upgrade, maybe there is a bug. If it's all of your cabinets, and they worked before the upgrade there may be a new bug for the Thermwood team to look at.

Terry,

Can you post your original cabinet where the deck float would not go away? If you don't want to post it, can you email it to cabinets@thermwood.com?

Clint it was an older seed cabinet and I deleted it and made a new one from standard cabinets directory. The problem went away with the new one.
