Floor Texture

Post by Leo Graywacz »

I'm trying to set the floor texture so that it looks like a standard Oak strip flooring. I can't get it to change over from a tile look to what looks like boards.

I right click on the floor and go to the MODIFY TEXTURE link and it brings me there. I go to the floor option and choose my preference of an Oak picture and click apply. It does but it's going in the wrong direction for the floor and it looks square instead of strips of wood.

I went and right clicked the floor again and this time I chose texture options > wall/floor>change texture and again I had to choose an Oak pattern and this gave me the option for Auto/Stretch/manual tile. I chose manual tile and put in some numbers to see what it looked like but there was no change.

A long while back there was an option that you would point at the floor and apply the texture, I think it had a little paint roller as the cursor for this option.

So how do I make the floor look like an normal Oak floor? Thanks.

Well I found what I was talking about with the paint roller. I had to press CTRL while that display was up and point and click at the floor. Still even with adjusting the tile options I can't make it look like an Oak floor.

Have you tried:
Edit options - modify textures - select floor - from directory select floor images - there are multiple images of plank flooring with different directions?

Looks OK in a small area, put it into a larger area and it turns to mush. I took some of the other pictures and turned them on their sides and tried that. It was better, but still didn't even come close to looking like a floor. I'm over it now, AKA given up. But if someone figures it out I'll listen.
