Top of prints get cut off..

Post by Derek Krzanowski »

When I drill down to the part view on a cut list so that i can print all the dado dimensions and other cuts etc on a part, the top line of the part line drawing and the dimensions or notes above that line always get cut off, including in the print preview. This has always been an issue for me with different printers and trying every setting possible. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to print what I'm looking for? I seemed to remember a report that would print all the parts with dimensions back before i took a brake from woodworking for a few years but i can't find anything like that now so i do cut list then drill down to each part i want to print but it can be problematic not having that top information... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Here are some screen shots that show the problem if it helps. Maybe there is a better way of getting what I'm looking for?

Derek,

Are you printing in Portrait or Landscape?

I've tried both with no luck. And I've tried on several different printers too. I've even tried adjusting the printer margins and offsets with no luck..

Derek,
I just nested a sample job, and clicked thru until I had a single part on the screen with all the dimensions (same as you're doing I believe), clicked the print button, and selected Print To PDF (you must have a PDF program installed to allow this, I'm using Primo PDF). It actually printed the entire job, but seemed to format nicely. Here's a screenshot, and I'll also attach the PDF, so you can see the whole thing. Anyway, the spacing seems fine with everything fitting on the pages.

Meant to say also: When you print it to PDF form like that, you can then print to your printer, sometimes with more options/better results than printing straight from ecabs.

I guess I should have tried this a little sooner. I just switched from landscape to portrait and it fixed the problem. Did you know landscape was a problem?
