Double Panel Doors

Postby John J. Desmond » Wed, Oct 14 2020, 9:59AM

Is there a way to make a double panel door? I would like to add mid stiles but can only do a glass door with mullions but can't put a panel in it.
Thanks.

Not that I've found. I know this has been a feature request by many people for a few years.

It would make it super nice for doing raised bar panel backs and end panels on cabinets.

Hi John
I'm not sure if I am interpreting your question the right way as I often misunderstand. :?
It depends on what you are trying to do, If you just want drawings to work from or sell from, or screen to machine type scenario.

For us setting up librarys seems easier than using the Connestoga or Thermwood door editor.

I am just talking about MDF style doors for screen to machine, Not solid timber 5 piece doors.
But you can change the material type via global item modification to change the colour of sheet stock.

I haven't done a kitchen of curved head ones, just one or 2 doors, (its quite do-able and there are a couple of different ways it could be done, but I haven't thought about adjustable formula based curves like you can use in the door designer) but square head are not to hard once you get the hang of it.

As has been said before its not easy to swap or change the doors, but Its more flexible and you can add style sizing variations quite easily.

Using the part editor, profile edge, constraints manager and shape manager, you can do some amazing stuff.
As far as I am aware you can add profiles to all the parts and doors of a cabinet, (I dont think its possible on display panels)
One option might be to use Thermwood doors for 80% of the job, develop a profile in the shape manager to match the Thermwood one and apply it to your custom pieces.
