I would really like to be able to place notes in Custom Layout as I design a job.
My workaround for now are these little white squares next to each room.
They are the deck of a base cabinet Called Notes from 1/32" material that I place on the floor and change the name of the cabinet to be my notes. (Being thin and placed on the floor they don't get in the way with 3d views.)
I would like an object like this that can be placed like a cabinet but doesn't register as a cabinet. (no cab number size wall associations etc.) The only thing I need is to mouse over it or select it and see the text I have entered as the name. To add notes I use the change name dialog.
It would be great if it worked like notes in a .pdf document

Re: Notes in Custom Layout
The problem with "Genius Level Workarounds" is that over time they become the "that is how it is to be done" and an actual function/feature is never developed/implemented.
Example: Drawer-stretchers ->
Example: Drawer-stretchers ->
- What most would like: Insert "Drawer Stretcher" with WIDTH=4.5.
- What we have to do: Insert FIXED SHELF and use a fixed value or formula in the "Back Inset" parameter to attempt to achieve the width required. (Unless i am missing an easier way?)

Re: Notes in Custom Layout
Hey Brad,
There is still a lot of things on my wish list.
Some of our cabinets have become quite complex to do what we want to do.
This is just a four opening island cabinet. The red parts are Phantom parts that I have to use perform some type joinery, alignment, spacing or allow me to split parts like the deck around the dishwasher, and Phantom Stretchers so I can quickly add nailers for different configurations and make them as parametric as possible.
