Grouped Drawer fronts do not nest

Post by Fab Tommasi »

I put a topic in for discussion a few days ago about an error I was getting on the nesting side (DFX Error)
I have since discovered that is was due to grouping the 3 drawer fronts so as to have the grain flow matching.
When I removed the grouping, the cabinet nested with no problem.
Is there a reason for this or am I doing something wrong ???

Thanks

Hey Fab,
I just ran a kitchen out of horizontal grain cherry. I grouped all of the cabinets with more than one door/drawer front. The nested print out sheets came out a mess as far as numbers and words, but it did cut correctly and I mudled through the parts. I have reported this to THM and they have seen it. I am not sure if this is the same problem or maybe something related.

Grouping Problem

Hi Michael

Thanks. What I have done is upgraded the control nesting as we were running an older version. Hopefully this will help.

Thanks

Hi Fab. Good to see yet another Thermwood user in this neck of the woods, makes me feel a little less alone... There are bigger problems with grouped panels which hopefully the Thermwood team are attending to. I have found that everything nest OK but the hole patterns (hinge holes) are all screwed up. Just be careful of this, if the nesting diagrams in RN show holes drilled all over the place they will actually machine like that.
