changed .x_t file

Post by Ray Jorgensen »

I made up a tool and saved it. When I closed the shape editor it asked to save the .tol file which I did. I have since changed the .x_t file and I never get a chance to save the file as a .tol. What am I missing?

Thanks

Hi Ray...

The shape manager basically deals with two types of files as you have found. When you create the geometry for a tool in the shape manager you should first save the geometry file by clicking on the save button and giving it a (name.x_t ). Once you have saved the geometry file you can create a tool file (name.tol) by clicking on the \"create tool\" button.

Then if you want to modify the original geometry file you can - just remember to save the geometry file each time you have a new design for your tool. Then you can open up each stage of your tool development.
