About all you could do is add more memory. You have 512MB and only 100MB free. Of your 2GB virtual memory, 1.96GB is available. I don't think adding memory to this system will give much better performance though. I would hate to see you spend close to $300 for 2GB of RAM just to not see any noticable improvement.

Your virtual memory size is okay for the amount of RAM you have and wasn't being used when the snapshot was made. Virtual memory usage fluctuates depending on program needs and available RAM.

Personally, I would not put money into an upgrade for this system because performance can't be improved enough to justify the cost of an upgrade.

Like I said earlier, think of your computer as one of your most valuable shop tools. Make a new computer part of the shop upgrade :wink:

I checked my systeminfo like you said, Dan, and it showed a list of 235 \"hotfix(s)\" below all of the other info.
What are these \"hotfix(s)\"?

How much does the processor have to do with the performance of eCabinet Systems?

The hotfixes are from Windows updates...only be concerned if you have none listed.

Processor speed has a bearing on everything, but for eCabinets, RAM and video RAM are most important.

Having a video card with DEDICATED RAM prevents it from stealing system RAM.

I've got a 256mb NVIDEA GeForce FX5950 Ultra video card (don't know if it's dedicated?)
I watched the cpu performance while rendering and it sticks at 50%.
While saving, it spikes to the high 90%
Running a P4 2.8ghz
Always a little under 2gb physical memory available. (2.5gb RAM)

I seem to get a lot of \"program not responding\" messages in the window's title bar (about once a day). I close it and it does the whole error reporting thing.

Seeing 50% CPU utilization during rendering is pretty normal regardless of which video card or how much RAM you have.

I'm pretty sure the card you have is dedicated RAM.

The program not responding messages just mean the program hasn't updates its status to Windows recently. Long processes sometimes show as not responding.
