Problem adding drawer head

Post by David Egnoski »

I'm helping a friend build his seed cabinets and came across an issue adding drawer heads. This is a three drawer stack. The two bottom heads are 12.0625\" high. The bottom head is flush to the cabinet bottom. There is a .125\" gap between drawer heads. The top head should be 6\" high with a .125\" reveal at the top. Add all those values and you get 30.5\", the height of the cabinet box. When I try to add the top head, it wants to make it 6.0625\" high and make the one under it 12\" high.

I've never come across this until now. I'm stumped and open to any suggestions.

Sorry for the duplicate post. Don't know what happend there.

David Egnoski,

What do you want the drawer fronts to be? Top reveal=.125 top drawer =6 first gap = .125 second drawer =12.0625 second gap=.125 third drawer = 12.0625? no bottom reveal?

You need to have the first fixed shelf opening at 5.0625 and the bottom opening at 23.1875. Now, set your top reveal to .125

Something to be noted:

Your file is over 1.44 M and I downloaded that file made the needed changes and uploaded the file compressed along with an image and the file is less than 103 K.

The programers may need to look at this one.

Thanks Michael. Yes, you have the dimensions correct. I moved the drawer rail up so that the opening is 5.0625 as you suggested and re-added the drawer heads. Indeed it work correctly. I'm just not understanding why. As long as it works. Thanks again.
