I don't want to miss a thing!

Post by Lee Morris »

I have just completed a bid for new house that has Kitchen, Laundry, Wet bar and 3 bathrooms. I did each as a separate job in Ecabs to keep the file from getting unworkable.
The home-owner kept asking what-if? so I made many changes. I would like to add the cabinets from each of these jobs into a batch job.

What is the best way to insure that I have the latest and greatest version of each cabinet?

What is the best way to accumulate all the door, drawer front and drawer box sizes?
I really, really don't want to miss a thing!
Thanks and have a great day!

If you are in the cabinet editor or room and select the cabinet, you can press ctrl-shift-y to see the version info of the cabinet.

A secret revealed! This is a handy thing to know since I've got files from way back to V2.5 and sometimes they give me grief when I go to open them.

Thanks,

Thanks Rick

I've been putting the size of the cabinet in the file name but then when a layout change occurs and I resize the cabinet I'm now forced to save it as a new cabinet.
I took each cabinet into the Cab Ed and renamed it with KIT1,KIT2,LAU1 etc. Now I think I can load them all into a batch job.

Any workflow ideas would be welcome.

Would it be useful to anyone else to have Ecabs export a spreadsheet list with directory, filename, date, size for each room. These spreadsheets could then be combined and used to load all the rooms as a batch job.

This buyer of this house is moving from Minneapolis to Madison, Wi and Ecabs has allowed me to work through (too) many design iterations. But I've been able to show exactly how things will look, glass doors, corbels and legs on the island. I've been emailing JPGs at a furious clip.

Thanks Thermwood.
