ceiling attributes

Case in point, I'm laying out rooms for closet cabinetry. I have attic access panels in two of the rooms and would like to add the scuttle-holes + their swing down areas to the design to illustrate what can and can't be placed. How is this done?

Kyle Hepp,

I don't know if this is what you are talking about but the images here show an area somewhat highlighted by a glass textured display cube.

Simply create a display cube the size indicative of the area you want to display and load a glass from the display items, and match the texture.

Hope this helps.

For quick & dirty, that works. Is there a way to make an actual ceiling, edit ceiling and insert items into that ceiling (eg. door/jamb/casing)

I'm wondering if the \"Z\" axis might allow for this?

Kyle,
You can use a Display Cube for your ceiling and the things you want but it creates some problems when lighting the room.

He are attic steps I made for my son's house in 2005.

My son wanted to know why I did not put the trim on the ceiling around the opening
Here are just the attic steps in zip file
Ceiling opening (R)25\" x 54 1/2\"
Steps 24 1/2\" x 54 x 3 1/2\" x 61\"Out on floor 8' High

So that is done in a \"display cube\"?

That is a perfect example of what I need to place into my design layout.

Can you set this to illustrate exactly where the door and stair swings? (or where a typical passage door OR cabinet door would swing) for the purpose of designing with respect to hardware parameters (110deg/170 deg hinges), adjascent item placement, etc...

Hi Kyle

I made it out of
A-Steps out of one cabinet
B- Door out of one cabinet
C-Rail out of a display cube
If you down load the zip file it will be all in there
