where to \"warehouse\" files

Post by KyleHepp »

I've downloaded several designs from the furniture side of eCabinets, and also developed quite a few assemblies and jobs of my own.
I'm now experiencing extremely sluggish system performance, and am wondering what the best way to deal with this is?
Any advice will be greatfully appreciated.

I feel your pain, Kyle. A few questions:

1. How much free space on your hard disk drive?

1a. How often do you defrag the drive?

2. How much RAM on your system?

3. Which graphics card do you have?

4. Which OS are you running? WinXP, Win2000, Vista?

5. How big is the virtual memory you have allocated?

6. How often do you clean the system of unneeded \"stuff\"?

The reason I ask: Recently I got a new laptop. I have been paranoid about keeping the system running at its best, which eCabs needs 8) . This involves running Ad-Aware daily, defragmenting the disk drive at least weekly, etc., etc. I also bought a little program called ErrorClean and use it at least weekly.

1a. How often do you defrag the drive? I don't think I've ever done this, since I don't know what this means

2. How much RAM on your system? 2 gigs

3. Which graphics card do you have? whatever came with the walmart special 3 years ago

4. Which OS are you running? WinXP, Win2000, Vista? XP

5. How big is the virtual memory you have allocated? I don't know, but every once in a while, I get a popup balloon that says "your virtual memory is running low, please wait while system is optimized... "

6. How often do you clean the system of unneeded "stuff"? I've tried to dump everything I can do without.
