Hardware Associations

Post by Michael Yeargain »

I'd like to make a suggestion for the hardware editor. Since there are so many ptn files for the hardware can the next build/version separate the ptn files in their associated folders?

All Blum in a folder named blum.
All Hafele in their folder...etc.

You can even devide them into subcategories; slides or hinges for example...

ALSO the ability to import a DXF file.

This can be overwhelming sometimes...

I re-organized all of these files by manufacturer, type (slide, hinge,RTA) and also sub-types. For example, under slides I have directories for Tandem, Tandembox, 230, 430 and Metabox.

Of course you also need to open and edit every file since they are mostly either not drilling deep enough or there are about 30 holes per every slide (in the case of the Tandem slides).

Take care,

Joe

is it drilling ALL of your holes?

I use holes a lot ! lately i'm having problem with my holes not drilling during machine time or in the case of the last job, it leaving the back hole off.

Mike,

Have you checked the PTN file to be sure it hasn't somehow lost the depth for the holes in question?
