cabinet design directories (Heigharcy)

Post by Michael Yeargain »

This was a qoute from Dan in another thread; which brings to mind a valuable wish to me, and many others. (search the forum).
Developing a functional library of cabinets requires reworking everything when you discover a method that works better for you. If you didn't have this capability you would be stuck with whatever the software designers thought was the best method and have no ability to change it.
The Heigharchy and the theory I have:

I came to an understanding that the cabinet directory can be saved; in addition to, the other backup files. The solution: save> cabinet directory command.

The MDB file may need to be seperated at this point to follow the cabinets, and this will allow us to create several lines of cabinetry. To allow us to name our little creations.

I design custom, as does nearly every one here. And, have a great need for the different directories or Design Seeds as I will refer them as.

Has this been in the works, and is their any update to this posibility?

Thanks

Actually, simply allowing cabinets and assemblies to be saved in any location (just as jobs can be now) would accomplish this.

The one problem I can anticipate will come from the folks that can't find their cabinets after saving them now. If allowed to save them anywhere, they will never find them again.

Looks like Dan's a little more excited than me.

You think?
