Transfering Files

Post by John J. Desmond »

I am wondering how I can transfer the files of cabinets I designed from my old computer to my new one. I seem to be having problems do this. :wall: I have a cabinet I am in the middle of designing and I don't want to lose it.

John -- I'm assuming that you also have Ecabs on your new machine. If so ... on your old one go to your Cdrive and --Program Files -- Thermwood -- Ecabinets -- and then copy your Cabinets file to a CD or floppy. Then on your new machine do the same thing and copy from the CD back to the Cabinets file on the new machine. Also -- you could do an Ecabs Backup to CD and then restore it on the new machine.

Great advice Wally, thanks. I never thought about doing it the long way. I always wondered how to get both files at once. It worked great. Yes, I have ecabs on the new system. It was the second program I installed, second only to my wife's business files  . Again, thanks.
