Hi Will,
I have cut a ton of them in 5/8 bb with a 1/2 prefinished maple bottom or 5/8 bb bottom. Makes a very good substitute for the drawer I used to make by hand and out of 5/8 solid ash. The 5/8 is quit a bit more substantial in my opinion. I see a 1/2 bb drawer and it just looks cheap to me,but thats just my opinion and it is FREE!

Mike, what is "bb", baltic birch? I assume so. Have you tried cutting any dovetail drawers out on the router with solid board stock. I have been curious about nesting one and cutting it out to see how well the solid wood turns out.
