You need to import it to the part editor.

Rick,

You can't open a .dwg in eCabinets, only .dxf
I use Intellicad to open the .dwg and then save it as a .dxf

You might still be able to get a copy of Intellicad 2000 which was free. I used to have a copy on my HD. There are also some other free cads that will let you view dwg and save to dxf. You just have to do a Google search.

Kerry, I downloaded the link. I opened the .dwg file and then "Saved As" to the desktop as a .dxf, when I try to open the dxf in the parts editor on a display board, it never opens, what am I doing wrong? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Damon,

The .dxf file can only be 2D. I think there are problems also with multiple layers.
You might also make sure that the placement of the .dxf is at 0,0 on your grid
It might be opening the .dxf out in space somewhere.
Post your .dxf file and I will see what I can come up with.

My Kids wanted to see if I could cut the world map on a sheet of plywood. And I found this .dwg and was going to try it.

I tried to upload the attachment, but it won't let me. This what it says every time I try.

The extension dxf is not allowed.

Damon, you need to zip the file, or you might be able to trick it by renaming it to something like .txt . By the way I have a world .dxf if you need it. Joe

Joe, if you could sent it to me, that would be great. My son has a school project and wanted me to cut it out on a sheet of plywood. His school mates say its not fair that he has the tools to make all the cool projects. They come to school with cardboard cut outs and we show up with elaborate displays. :D
