changing hole patterns-existing cabinets

Post by Michael S Murray »

Hey every one,
I am about to dive into changing my slide hole pattern on my entire frameless librarys. Probably 100 or more total base cabs with drawers that I will need to change. The way I see it is that I will have to pull in every cabinet, delete the drawers, change the hardware and then rebuild the drawer box and front. The side clearences will not change, the drawer box will not change, only the hole location on the cab side. Am I missing anything or does any one have a better idea of how to change the hole locations without basically rebuilding the drawers on all the cabinets? A daunting task to say the least..

Mike -- Can't you just go to Cabinet Defaults and clear the slide and add the new one with the new hole pattern.

TO change the slide hole pattern you willhave to do each cabinet but you will not have to delete anything. Here are some steps:
1. Go to the hole editor.
2. associate hardware/ selecte the same slide that you have for that cabinet.
3. associate new pattern.
4. Go back to main cabinet editor.
5. Go to the door/drawer editor.
6. Select all drawers.
7. Hardware selection.
8. Select the same slide.
9. set as default.
10. Go back to the main cabinet editor.

Now the hole pattern will be different for this slide now.

Wally, I thought about that, but it did not seem to co-op with me, maybe I wasnt doing it correctly.

Justin, thanks, I will try that on a couple and see how it goes.

Mike
Like Wally said but you have to first highlight the cabinet in cab editor, change hole pattern in defaults, exit defaults and changes will take effect.

Mike, as you work your way through your library of seeds, would you first set up a new directory for storing the cabs with the revised slide holes?

Hi Gene,
If you were thinking that you might go back to the origonal slide, it would be worth the time to make a copy of the librarys. I have not had time to get started on this project yet, was hoping to get to it this weekend but not looking good..
Have a good weekend.
