Took a one-drawer basecab I had done, modified it to make a sinkbase, deleted the drawerbox when doing so.
Slide holes remain. I would rather lose them, as my assemblers might mistakenly put a drawerslide in.
What is going on?

Your drawer front still has a slide pattern associated to it. Clear the Drawer Slide from your cabinet defaults and regen the cabinet.
