Earthquake???

Post by DanEpps »

Hey Thermwood folks (and others in that region): Did you feel the earthquake this morning? That sure would have been a rude awakening at 4:30 in the morning.

It was quite strong here! Thought I was back in California or Japan. Certainly was quite a wake-up call.

Since the epicenter was in southeastern Illinois, I'd guess that we were maybe around 70 miles or a bit more from it.

We are 50 miles east of Indianapolis and it shook my house like a train coming through. Hard enough that my 18 year old son got out of bed and came down to see what was going on! Didn't realize I needed an earthquake to get my son out of bed at 5:30 in the morning!!

Ya, that was something. I/we live in Owensboro, KY and it woke us up. Stuff was rattling on the walls and we had a few cabinet doors open in the garage. What a way to start the day :!:

I don't think an earthquake would wake my 18 year-old son... He manages to wake up early on his own if he has plans but if I need him for something--forget it!!!

We has one here a few years ago that was centered about 15 miles from us. I was still asleep and my wife was getting ready for work (takes a couple of hours to make beautiful you know  ). It was so loud and shook so much that I thought something had exploded nearby.

I'm sure glad I live in California and not some earthquake prone section of the country like the Midwest. Damn... Tornadoes AND earthquakes.

I remember years ago when I was in 6th grade, we had a tremblor here in DELAWARE of all places. (erm thats on the east coast, stuck between maryland, new jersey and pennsylvania). No one knew what it was until like a week later when they confirmed it.

What does an earthquake do to the adjustments on a Thermwood router?
