Problem placing cabinet in custom layout

Post by Jason Gooch »

Hello - I've discovered an issue when I try to place a new cabinet in wall elevation view. I start by selecting a cabinet from the list of cabinets and changing the size on it. When that window closes, the wall elevation appears, but with the appliances from the adjacent walls highlighted in front of the wall I'm trying to place cabinets on. I'm unable to put a cabinet in its proper place. Any ideas? It only seems to happen when I change the size of the cabinet from the place cabinets dialogue. I'll try to get an image here to illustrate.

Hello Jason,
The way that I do, I always install cabinets in the top view; especially when they are in a corner as shown in the picture. Then I associate the cabinet to the wall so I can see in the wall view. I personally think that is the best way to work with it.

Jason,
in the overhead view, Click on the appliance that is in the way,
then click on the wall that you want to work onto select it
Right click and mouse to wall options, then Associate/disassociate Items and select disassociate from wall.

Now when you go to that wall elevation view the appliance won't show.

Thanks for your replies, Sergio and Kerry. Sergio, I understand that would probably work, I just prefer to work in elevation view. Kerry, I tried your suggestion, no luck. It only happens when I change the size of the cabinet when placing it, so I'm thinking it's a bug... maybe...?

Jason,

Sorry I wasn't understanding what was happening. I just tried it from scratch using your instructions and you are correct, it is a bug.

Hi everyone - revisiting this problem, I was wondering if there's been any possible fixes? It still shows up. Thanks much - Jason

Jason,

Be sure to report this using Feedback in the eCabinets Software so that the programmers are aware of the problem. (or call it in) They can then fix it for the next release.
