Angled corner upper bug

Post by Gene Kimmi »

I think I have found a problem with angled corner upper cabinets. When I delete the left end, set all joints to the left end as butt joints with a 1/2" inset, the shelf, deck, and top do not size right. All should be 25" X 25". With this problem, it is causing the deck and top to be 25 1/4" X 25. The shelf is 25 3/4" X 25"

I am doing this to add a panel end on the left side and the insets let the cutlist show the correct sizes to dado into the panel end.

What version of the software are you running? I also think I know what you are seeing. Let me check out your file and I will get back with you.

I will need all the steps to create this cabinet from scratch. Also you might try redrawing this cabinet fresh with a cabinet from V5.2. I will need the steps so I can determine what is causing this issue.

Justin,

Here are 2 assemblies I made using this cabinet. One has a panel end on the right side and the cutlist is OK on it. The other one has a panel end on the left side and is the one that is not working right.

I am going to start with the same seed cabinet I used to make this cabinet and rebuild it to see if I can make it work that way. Thanks.

Justin,

I started over with the standard corner upper cabinet and built it the same as the one I am having problems with. I got the same results doing it this way. You can remove the right side and apply insets to the top, deck, and shelf with no problems. When you remove the left side and apply insets, these parts will not come out right.

Here are the cabinets from the standard library, one with the left end removed, and one with the right end removed.

If you want me to, I can give you a call to go over the steps I took to get this. I can talk better then I can type. :) Thanks.
