Hi Glenn,

There is really nothing new with eCabinets since we just released V5.2 not too long ago. We are starting work on V6 but that won't be ready for the IWF show. We will be demonstrating our new line of Fravol edgebanders. We will have 3 different models there for everyone to see. We will also have 3 cnc routers there as well. 1 CS45 (3-axis), 1 CS41 (3-axis) and a Model 90 (5 axis). The CS45 will be cutting production for American Visu. The CS41 will be cutting nested based applications. The Model 90 will be cutting stair valutes, molds and other items that pertain to the wood industry. We have also added a new scanner to help with programming. The Polhemus scanner is a handheld device that can scan a part in a few minutes thus creating geometry. We will be showing this at the show as well. We will also have a few stations showing the Job Level Interface.

Are you planning on attending the show?

Hi Jason,
I was wondering if you were having the Accu-lube on display on your stand or if they had there own booth?

Are you having any merchandise on sale like T shirts or sweaters?

Thanks

Neville

Hi Neville,

We will not have accu-lube on our machines at the show because that is mainly used on aluminum and other metals. I just checked to see if they had a booth and cannot find them. They might be under a different name or maybe a distributor is selling those systems. We are not going to have t-shirts, polo's and sweaters for sale at the show. They can be purchased online.

thanks,

Hi Jason,
I wonder if you are letting a opportunity run past you with the Accu-lube.
My understanding is that Accu-lube can cool cutters so it can also allow it to cut engineered stone with Diamond stone cutters. As you may know some engineered stone is available in 6mm to 8mm from Trend products who trade as Granite Transformations and Silestone.

If you were able to demonstrate to the cabinet makers they could also do there own stone work using Ecabinets that would put the Thermwood ownership in a different light. You could make your cabinets and do your own stone work cutting out the middle man thus increasing your profit to pay for the lease payment.

If you had the accu-lube salesman on your stand with a video showing the test results you have had this could be another checked box to buy a Thermwood instead of a different brand?

I don't know however if it will cut stone and how long the Diamond bits last etc. You may have already tested this and found it lacking. I just thought the option you have that is mainly for aluminium may just work on other materials.

Regards
Neville

Hello Neville,

I'm curious, where did you actually get this understanding?

Hi Neville,

When cutting stone, generally a flood of coolant (H2O) is required which takes a different type of machine altogether. We do use (I am unsure if it is accu-lube) some type of coolant mainly on our 5-axis machines and some 3-axis machines for aluminum and some composites but the spoilboard cannot be usesd for this application as the spoilboard will soak in the coolant and expand. We have also used compressed cold air guns for cooling the tooling as well during the cutting cycle but not for stone.
