hoops error help please

Post by greg youngken »

Hi all, really pulling my hair out on this one. I just installed ecabs on a new system and one of my old job folders from the previous installation is giving me some of the same old errors, and new ones. I have attached pdf screen shots of the errors, sorry they are sideways. I am assuming the errors are in the job folders as I've stated this is a new ecab install, my system specs should easily run ecabs? They are hoops, fatal, not enough memory, errors. I was attempting to re-size a cabinet from within the layout rm, system hung, also during presentation view, while it was presenting about half way down the top half of the screen went black. when I originally laid out this job I used cabs from the last jobs cabinet library, with very minor alterations. The last job ran great but this one was plagued from the middle of the layout onwards. Can't figure out what I could have done differently on this one. I've been using ecab over a year and most jobs go pretty smooth, the ones I've had trouble with hang ups I was attributing to my cheap computer. I really need to figure this out so I can change what I'm doing if it was user error, haven't been high for ten years so I know that's not the problem,

does anyone know why I would get a memory error when there is plenty of memory ?

thanks,
greg

Post the job so someone can take a look at it Greg.

Did you actually install eCabinets (and the latest update) or did the geek simply ghost or copy the folders from the old computer? If they were just copied, that could possibly cause the Hoops error.

Thanks for the reply Dan,
I've tried to upload job twice, zipped and regular, it will not upload.
I installed ecabs fresh from the cd, then updated to the latest 5.2, then restored my job files from the back up cd made from previous install
I noticed the job file reads 24 mg, I have similar jobs at less than 8mg

Does it have a lot of knobs/pulls or moldings (especially rope molding)? These are all items that consume huge amounts of memory.

24MB is too large to post. You can email the zipped job to me if you would like and I will look at it.

Nothing too fancy Dan, it does have nobs, tried changing them to no avail.

Hmmm...zip it up and email it to me (or to Thermwood as Daniel suggested).

It's zipped an been loading for 20 mins. hmmmm.
I've been tracing down where these cabs came from and I found a job that has 4 different versions,
each new version was saved with a different name so I could have the old one on file
the job file size went from 7mg 1st version, 23mg 3rd version, 46 mg 4th version
It's really strange how it could double just by making a few changes and then using the save file as option and using a new name to create a new file

job file still loading, hope it goes through?

Well I tried 4 times and could not e-mail the job file, as far as I know it did not go through, I guess my e-mail will not send 19mg zip files.

Right click on the job file, go to properties and see how large the file is.

19.3 MB zipped, 23.6 MB un zipped,
as I've said seems too big for what it is, have much larger jobs same level of detail that are 1/3 the size.
anyhow, I have started over from scratch. deadlines can't wait. more time trying to figure it out than doing a new one, would still like to know what's up with this so as to avoid it in future

my new system is mega fast, will find out after a couple of jobs how stable it is. hopefully keep this _ _ _ _ from happening again
