Did you have to use the patch Dean posted in the Vista Install thread at the top of the forum?

One thing I would like to add , I thought eCab would run alot faster with this system. That little job I posted with the brick fireplace took 1min. to render

Based on your system specs it should fly. Could you post the file you are referring to so I can test it

Yeah, Dean said it ran very fast for him. So, is that 1 minute render faster than your old system?

I just thought of something Gary...the render may be taking that long because you couldn't find any OpenGL drivers for the video card other than what comes with Vista.

Greg I have tried to post the job but it won't take it. I compressed it and when I go to attach the file the system keeps kicking me off.

What is the driver version currently installed?

To find the version, open up the Control Panel and select System.

On the dialog that is displayed, select Device Manager and expand the Display Adapters item.

Next, right-click on the display adapter and choose Properties.

On that dialog, click the Driver tab and see what the driver version is.

Bear in mind that these setps are on XP so it may be a bit different for Vista.

Actually, the current driver version doesn't matter according to this from nVidia:
The Microsoft Windows drivers are basic drivers which only provide Direct3D support, but no OpenGL support. For OpenGL, you will need to install the full retail drivers for your graphics card. Our Forceware unified display drivers provide support for both OpenGL and Direct3D.
You can get the Vista64 driver for your card here:

Did you download and install the driver? If so, how does it work now?

Dan ,

I did download the driver and noticed about a 15 second improvement. I am trying to attach the file but the form won't take it for some reason the file is only about 25Mb. I even tried zipping the file and that doesn't work.
