So how did everyone learn eCabinet systems software?

Post by BEN HOLM »

I Have just started using and so far love it but its a little frustrating not knowing how to do everything. I have been drawing all my work in AutoCad and its a ton of work to show diff. views and even then its just black lines on white background. I have ordered the Guide book and am waiting to get it? I learned AutoCad from a few books and feel like I know it quite well. Im hoping I can do the same with the 600 some page Guide book. Has anyone taken the 5 day classes that go around? Or the 3 day?

I took the five day course and would have to say it was well worth it. I was pulling so much of my hair out, it was either take the course and spend around a $1000 or spend the same amount with Hair club for men. :joker:

Ben,

we are still learning eCab every day we use it. That's why the forum keeps getting bigger and bigger. :D

Ben,

I have been using eCab for a couple years now and I haven't taken any classes. (Just haven't had the time) I found that the key to learning the program was using it every day...if possible and posting questions on the forum. There are so many guys on here that have been where you are at. Also, many of the questions you may have most likely have already been asked and in that case try a search.

Good luck with it! It has been well worth all the hours I have put into it.

Ben,

Have fun there is a lot of help on the forum, they are a great bunch of guys that will help you out with just about everything. I have had responces come in at all hours of the night. One warning It's habit forming once you start it's hard to quite.

Many of us learned eCabinets through trial and error but if you want to get up to speed quickly, and learn more in-depth functionality, I highly recommend that you attend a Thermwood training class. There is no substitute for having a highly skilled instructor by your side explaining what we can't in the forum.

Ben, if you want to get up and going without a lengthy training curve, make the time and go to the class. It was all new to us but after a couple days, we were so much ahead of where we would be if we struggled through it. The Forum is great but it also assumes you have a basic knowledge in many instances. We took the class in 2005, started using it all the time right then, learned a bunch from the experts on this forum but are still learning.
